DJ Mash-up Competition!

We have at least two DJs that a currently mixing songs and then are posting them on ryeandcoke.com to see which one is the fan favorite.

Here's the Rules

  1. First off the DJs needed to choose from a limited list of songs. They didn't get to pick them. I did.
    • 36 Crazy Fists - Bloodwork
    • Bob Log III - Rattler
    • Jack Union - The Stand
    • Gary Allan - Right Where I Need to Be
  2. Then the DJs had to include a song of their own into the mix.
  3. I then gave them two weeks to create their mash-ups. But two weeks was a little too short. Rather than put out some crappy mixes, we extended the deadline. That's why we're a little late.

But Kobi, mashing is for potatoes! What is 'Mashing' with music?

For some time, DJs -- at first in England and later in the United States and other countries -- have been developing a new style of remix, known as mashups, in which two songs are melded together. Often, the resulting track features the melody of one song and the vocals of another.

Until recently, mashups had been the province of underground DJs, in part because those doing the remixing hardly ever had permission from the original artists to do so. Instead, DJs would produce their mashups, play them at clubs and distribute them freely over the Internet.

....like we are doing here. On ryeandcoke.com - can't wait!!
