Parker’s daily Buddhist wisdom:

Question for Buddha Parker:

Kobi says: here's an issue for you - this girl Jordan was trying to get thru on her phone for a radio contest

Kobi says: didn't get thru, and here’s the conversation after

jordan says: some stupid tanis lady got through. she had a stupid guess, just like the rest of the people who get through as caller 9.

jordan says: I guess that's not very good for my karma points...

Kobi says: lol, you just burned through all the karma

jordan says: all the karma? ALL the karma? just cuz one lady is stupid?

Kobi says: contempt is a real karma killer

jordan says: but i guess i'm glad she's stupid, or she would have won my prize.

Kobi says: lol

jordan says: well how do i change how i feel? i didn't say to myself, i'm gonna think this lady is stupid...i just did.

jordan says: or is good karma thinking it but not saying it?

Kobi says: I think good karma is thinking it and saying it

Kobi says: I told her that I would talk with Buddha Parker, and see what his insight/interpretation of karma was in this situation

Parker’s Buddhist Response:

At least once a day some dill hole will piss you off. Somebody leaves a floater for you in the toilet, no polite hand wave after someone Mario Andretti’s their way into your lane, or good ol donkey tits Tanis robs your chance at getting free tickets to Cooter fest in Didsbury because she likes the sound of her voice on the radio.

However, getting pissed off is no good, because no matter how pissed off you get it will not end your despair. So put down the rifle and come back down from the clock tower.

Not to worry though this incident should not have affected what karma you may or may not have banked up. Your desire is what really fucked you…. It was that which really caused your anger and need to call Tanis stupid.

Good karma comes from Right Mind and Right Thought and you can achieve this through compassion.

Showing compassion each day even to the dill holes will help increase that karma puddle into a lake in no time. The catch is you can’t make any withdrawals from your karma bank… only in the next life there chucky. So if you are eating shit burgers on a daily basis blame your kitten kicking former life.

Great example of karma in play:

Adopting an attitude of universal responsibility is essentially a personal matter. The real test of compassion is not what we say in abstract discussions but how we conduct ourselves in daily life.”
