The Socks Strike Back

Bad Weather in Oz is still Good

Been raining alot here, so it's been keeping us from the beach. But we've been able to entertain ourselves with museums, art galleries, casinos, bars, and booze.

We have some new flat mates! Kyle and Dani from back home have arrived. So we've been sporadically celebrating their arrival. I've been particularily keen on the celebrating, so much that sometimes I do it without them.

Kyle and I had a night out. Beforehand we went shopping so we could fit in with the 'new fresh style' that the bouncer always mentions to me before escorting me out of the queue to get in. Like here's how it went last time when Brett and I tried to get in:

BOUNCER: I'm sorry, we can't let you in - new dress code in effect.
KOBI & BRETT: New dress code??
BOUNCER: Yes. We're trying a new fresh style.
KOBI: What's wrong with what we are wearing?
BOUNCER: You want me to go into it?
KOBI: Yea!
BOUNCER: Well ... top to bottom. Please step out of line.

Well after that, Brett and I decided we needed new nicknames. Mine is 'Freshy the New Squeeze' and Brett's is 'Jive 3000'. And our motto is 'Our Fashion is from the Future!'.

Now back to Kyle and I. I bought the freshest shirt I could find ..... and we got in! Oh the joy of finally being accepted. This ugly duckling became a discotech swan.

Also had another run-away with gary, Stacy, and Justin. Met up with some friends at a place called the Z-Bar where Gary used to DJ. By the end of the night I was wearing Stacie's baby t-shirt uniform from work and giving two-steppin lessons to three girls. Beauty.

The last couple days have been slow. So Dani and I decided to hit the museum and art gallery. We ended up seeing a large plastic turtle, the biggest spider ever, dead stuffed kangaroos, and an 8 foot statue of a naked pregnant woman. We also, thru and interactive learning display, were able to help 10 baby turtles hatch and make it to sea. Very informative and we felt like proud parents.

Mny thanks to Kerry, who the Remote Rye Foundation, donated a couple drinks! This world has beautiful people in it. Thank you to Kerry for showing me that. Vive le Kerry!

Oh, and I lost a sock in the laundry. So now I am back down to one pair. Socks can eat my ass with a spoon.

I also find out that Gary has a nickname: Gary I-Have-A-Gambling-Problem Banner. But that's a little long, so we just call him Ruffles.

Peace (and oh why not, love too!)
