Drove to Easter and Rye Rode Shotgun

Well Easter was a good holiday. Family all gathered to celebrate. Dad thought it was when we see if Jesus comes out of his cave and sees his shadow or not. I thought it was his birthday. Grandma served up some warm Ranier beer. I hope Hell has good visiting hours so Mom can visit us.

Did do a good deed on the weekend though, a calf had hurt his leg and Dad decided we should splint it. So after rifling through the 2by4's we elected to use strips of Styrofoam and silver duct tape. Once we were done, it looked like half the calf was ready for a launch into space. I'm sure the calf is going to be teased relentlessly.

Byemoor had a rodeo dance on Good Friday. We all got pissed as billy goats. But none more than Dr. Je who came down to the festivities. The night started off with drinking games at our place. By the time we got to the dance Dr.Je was saying hello to any girl within shouting distance. In the line-up, the girls behind us saw how drunk we were and took a step back. Dr.Je turned around and greeted them ... they took a couple more steps back.

Once we got into the dance, I hung around the zombie that once was Dr.Je. I have to give him credit, he had enough rye to cripple a team of horses, yet was able to stay on his feet. Of course he kept swaying into me when we were walking, so I had to hold him by the shoulder. Lost him for a moment and couldn't find the guy for like 45 minutes. I went outside and walked around town for him, my Mom grabbed the car and went searching too. Just when we're about to pack everyone up and form a search party, Dr.Je appears out of the fog with a rye and coke and asks what's up. When asked where he was, he can only say that he was sitting on a rock somewhere.

The most memorable part of the night was Dr. Je wobbling over to me and saying that he thinks he's ready for another rye and coke. I say sure and go grab him a rye and coke. I bring it back to him and put it into his hand. I look at him and say that I can't even understand what he's saying sometimes and that I'm gonna have to knock the drink out of his hand. He looks at me like I told him I'm gonna have to shoot his dog. He lowers his head and nods, but says that he's not gonna let go. So I knock it out of his hand and we go get him some more water.

Let the records show that Dr.Je demonstrated exemplary dedication and earned his Zombie patch.
